About Felipe

Felipe Polanco has long been one of Puerto Rico’s living legends of Mambo and he is the most well-known representative of the Puerto Rican salsa dance style worldwide.
Above all, it is his solo footwork shows that have made him famous. He is able to combine elegance, precision and swiftness in his choreographies like no other. Outside of the U.S. and Puerto Rico, he is particularly liked and appreciated in Italy as one of the best Salsa/Mambo dancers.

Felipe began to dance Salsa in the streets and clubs of Puerto Rico when he was 14 years old. Salsa, he recalls, was as popular back then as Rap and Hip Hop are today. The most important period in Felipe’s career as a dancer was his association with the "Papito Jala Jala Dancers”. With that troupe, he toured the USA and South America and also performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In addition to that, he has accompanied famous musicians such as Ismael Miranda, Roberto Roena, Tito Puente and Tony Vega among many.
